A Day of Connection, Laughter and Community Giving!

Following the success of our 2025 gathering, we once again met at the retirement village for a warm, lively and very well‑attended club day. The village generously provides the club room free of charge, and it continues to be a superb venue, especially acoustically  - making it easy for everyone to relax, connect and enjoy themselves.

This year we welcomed 34 participants, with the main aim unchanged: a fun day and a chance to get to know fellow club members better. Spot prizes after each round added humour and helped spark conversation, while the raffle and all prizes came entirely from the generous donations of members.

We chose Waiheke Health Trust as our charity again, recognising that all our whānau have been supported by them at some point - or will be. Thanks to everyone’s contributions, we are delighted to donate $1,500 to the Trust.

A huge thank you to the great team who moved all the gear from CMAC to the retirement village and back - David, Richard, Johan, Chris Sloan, Jan Robertson and Moira. Wonderful also to see the new WBC operating “like a well‑oiled machine”.

Lunch was a standout highlight, thanks to Oktay at Cappadocia - absolutely superb! If you haven’t yet been to the Turkish/Sri Lankan lunch that Oktay and Indie host every fourth Sunday, it’s well worth attending: delicious food and live music.

Finally, heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, helped in countless ways, and came along to play. What a day!
